sry to post it there but i don't find any feature request elsewhere yet for vista and i currently don't use newsgroups, feel free to delete.

- Enabling zip-compressed folder browsing in MCE:
I have a large collection of pictures and videos stored in zip-compressed folders, what i would like is that the Media Center be able to browse them (caching them in a ehthumbs.db file) and display their content as any normal folder (explorer or ACDSee can do that).
This is a huge drawback in my everyday use of the Media Center: it force me to decompress every folder i want to browse, which cost me time and space on my disk drives.

- Add every video play mode missing: playlist, loop single file, loop entire selection, random play, autoplay all videos in the current folder and subfolders, autoplay the next video in the current folder, et cetera.

- Instead of displaying the annoying "Finished" menu with "restart / delete / done" selection, reorder this menu order with by default the last selection you made... add to the current choice at least some "next/previous video" items.

Those missing features are both in my up-to-date Windows XP Media Center 2005 and the latest Microsoft Vista beta 2 build 5365 that i have tested last week, which is a little scary and urge me to post those requests.

Nobody can really understand why such "basic" features are not here and annoying other ones still there after years. :/

Best regards,
Sensi

Hi Sensi,

Thanks for the suggestions! While we aren't adding browsing of zipped folders in Vista (this is the first time I've heard that request) we are making improvements to what we call the 'stopped behavior', though you'll have to wait for a future CTP build to see the results. As for video playlists, this is a frequent request and hopefully something we can implement in the future.

Matt
