Thou Shall Not Covet Thy Neighbors Job

My friend who works at a local car dealership brought home this really SICK (Mike Garcen would call it that) 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 with a 6.1 Liter V8 Hemi to let me get a closer look (drool). We parked it in the middle of the cul-de-sac with the streetlight shining down and I took approximately 30 shots of varying exposures then used Photoshop CS2 to merge them into a single High Dynamic Range (HDR) image using the instructions found at http://backingwinds.blogspot.com/2006/10/how-to-create-professional-hdr-images.html plus some other tweaks to get it 'just right'. Love the outcome -- think I'll do more once my new camera is delivered. Click the image to go over to Flickr to see a larger image.

And yes, the car is all that. I'm now thinking my children are smart enough to get college scholarships so can use their savings to purchase...whoops. Wife just came in -- scrap that idea.

Wow, that looks like you took a screenshot from a video game. I'll never forget watching a guy burn through half a pair of tires in my high school parking lot in a Challenger 1.0 ...

Just tell her Randy convinced you to do it! Which new canon are you getting? Take care, bro...

Photography is daunting enough without new reasons to delve deeper into even larger areas. :-)

Nice shots!

I have found lots of great HDR tutorials online . I have been playing with Photoshop CS3 Lightroom 2 and Photomatix on Macbook Pro. Looking forward to trying Adobe Photopshop CS4 Windows in 64 bit Vista or Windwos 7 when beta 64 bits is available with quad core machine to speed up processing. I like the surreal feel of HDR images like yours. I have just started playing with Photomatix HDR software using the plugin from Lightroom 2. I plan to try a few sessions of HDR focused landscape shooting in the Owens Valley in 2009.

I just ordered this book by Ben Willmore at http://www.amazon.com/HDR-Beyond-Adobe-Photoshop-CS4/dp/0321617029 on new ways to get good results with HDR.

Ben's blog is here : http://www.whereisben.com/

Ben's photos are here: http://thebestofben.com/

Ben has produced a DVD tutorial using Photomatrix Pro for HDR available for $69 http://www.digitalmastery.com/content/view/211/104/

Ben also teaches an online class for $79 on HDr. I have read his Photoshop Mastery Books and find them very useful.

Ben has lots of free Photoshop how to articles for download here: http://www.digitalmastery.com/

Ben's free HDR actions that compliment DVD are here: http://www.digitalmastery.com/content/view/214/
I also saw some downlaodable HDR tutorials on Photoshop Cafe

HDR is so awesome. You should also try your hand at tilt shift photography/video. Maybe even combine TS and HDR!
