Geek Dinner with Ed Bott on Tuesday, September 25, 2007

We had a blast with Scott Hanselman last week -- and next week we are very fortunate to have the author of Windows Vista Inside Out, Ed Bott in town. Ed has graciously agreed to join us for another geek dinner.

When: Tuesday, September 25, 2007 starting at 7:00 PM.

Where: Zeeks Pizza, Kirkland

Update: We are going to eat at Zeeks Pizza in downtown Kirkland. Excellent pizza but if it's not your thing there are many other choices within walking distance where you could pick up a 'to go' order and join us at Zeeks -- see here for a list. Zeeks stays open unitl 10 PM and there are several coffee shops / pubs close by where we can move the conversation if folks are still around.

Umm, how about starting earlier?

One nice thing about the Crossroads is it has nearby bus stops and can handle a good crowd. I tend to worry more about when the bus connections become scarce as the evening gets into the wee hours (commuting from West Seattle in my case).

Maybe the ones who want to go longer, a much smaller group, will be willing to move to a second venue? There's a nice Italian restaurant on the far side of Barnes and Noble that has a patio (if the weather is still holding).

I just got some strange message from CoComment saying that my post didn't get through CoComment (huh?) and wasn't posted, but there it is. Weird. I don't think I am using CoComment myself, having lost interest about two years ago when it was in early beta.

Dennis, my last meeting on campus is scheduled to end at 5PM on Tuesday. I can go straight from there to wherever we choose, but I'd rather go back to my hotel and freshen up a bit.

Understand, Ed. I'm waiting for announcement of the actual venue so I can plan my Tuesday commitments. Some commutes take me much longer just because of variations in the transit-system routings and transfers. And I'd love to have a chance to meet you.

Dennis, we decided on Zeeks Pizza in downtown Kirkland. It's within a block or two of the Kirkland Transit Center -- so hopefully that works out for you.
