We just posted the release candidate of the Windows Media Center Software Development Kit 6.0 for Windows 7 – same url as the beta release:

[Hyperlink Removed] The RC release has been superseded by the RTM release. Visit this post for the download location.

You can leave feedback here or chat about it over at http://discuss.mediacentersandbox.com.

Note to developers: For all intents and purposes we are done with Windows 7 – if you want to report issues (application compatibility or otherwise) you should immediately grab the Windows 7 Release Candidate and this SDK and test, test, test – last call! :-)

Overall, I'm finding Media Browser works way better with 7. Performance is much better, the Media Center frameworks focus handling seems more robust. The way you guys support so many codecs out of the box is fantastic. I'm loving quicktime trailers on 7 (with no additional codec).

One thing that has been annoying me it that I noticed I'm getting "Media Browser stopped responding" errors some times when I play online content. Is there any way to debug that after the fact. (what does it mean? My guess is that polling playback status in the background is locking up the UI thread.)

I really wish Win7 Media Center API supported things like the Yahoo (or Adobe Flash) TV widgets from 3rd parties. How cool would it be to have some really cool widgets that you can view while watching a TV program.

Very nice job eHome team!

The only thing annoying me right now is the integration with Windows Media Player and DLNA.

- If media is playing in WMP, it restarts when I go in to the Music library the first time.
- If I start video in WMP from a remote machine via DLNA, that shows up as music playing in Media Center. It should show up as full screen video.
- If I start a playlist containing video, the same happens.
